AvWeather ("the Skill") is an Alexa skill that reads aviation weather reports (METAR and TAF) aloud and answers flight-category questions for general-aviation pilots. This policy describes what data the Skill collects and how it is used.
The Skill collects and stores one piece of information you explicitly provide: your home airport ICAO identifier (e.g., "KPAE"), if you choose to set one. This is stored in an Amazon DynamoDB or S3 table associated with your Alexa account so the Skill can recall it on future requests. No other personal data is collected or retained.
The Skill does not collect your name, location, voice recordings, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information beyond what Alexa passes to all skills (your anonymized Alexa user ID, which is required to store per-user preferences).
Weather data is fetched in real time from the Aviation Weather Center (AWC) API operated by NOAA / the National Weather Service. No user data is sent to AWC — only the airport identifier you request.
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. Skill operation data may be visible to Amazon as part of normal Alexa platform operation, subject to Amazon's Privacy Policy.
You can delete your stored home airport at any time by saying "Alexa, ask Aviation Weather to forget my home airport." You may also request deletion by contacting us at the address below, and we will remove your data within 30 days.
The Skill is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the Skill after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
